Welcome...
The Lake Allatoona Preservation Authority was created through House Bill 508 on April 22, 1999 when it was signed into law by then Governor Roy Barnes. This legislation provided for the creation of a public corporation deemed as a political subdivision of the State of Georgia for the purpose of protecting Lake Allatoona.
The Authority consists of nine members from Bartow, Cherokee and Cobb Counties. Six members will serve two-year terms and three members will serve four-year terms. All subsequent members of the Authority will be appointed for four years. The Authority's Executive Committee consists of the Chairman, Vice-Chairman and a Secretary-Treasurer, elected to their posts by the Authority's nine member panel. Five members constitutes a quorum and a majority vote will authorize any legal act of the authority.
